Constellium – Aluminum Plant BOP

Matrix PDM Engineering provided multidiscipline design and balance of plant at the Ravenswood aluminum plant. The scope of the project included:
• Foundations for new pusher furnace and related equipment, new pusher furnace control room and new electrical room
• Structural design for duct supports, blower towers and wall modifications
• Civil grading and drainage design
• Modifications to existing basement access stairs
• Personnel protection fencing as required around new furnace
• New lean-to building enclosure along west side of R-5 and R-6 bays with flooring to accommodate heavy forklift traffic hauling scrap buckets
• Re-support of the existing building structure due to necessary column removal
• Installation of new crane girders, and reinforcing of existing steel
• Concrete-filled pipe bollards to protect equipment and structures
