Confidential Client – Cement Import Facility Globalplex Terminal Modifications
Originally designed to handle limestone and woodchips, the Globalplex terminal was modified to include ship unloading, storage and barge loading of cement. The facility had an annual throughput capacity of 1.5 million tons.
Matrix PDM Engineering provided economic feasibility analysis and useful life studies for the involved parties along with conceptual, preliminary and final engineering design.
The design included dock improvements and extension, a new mechanical ship unloader, slewing barge loader, two storage domes and an automated mechanical reclaim system.
Additionally, the barge loadout system included an inland waterway distribution system of imported cement from worldwide sources.
Matrix PDM also provided construction management services for project completion.
