Kinder Morgan – NG PL Station 104
Location: Great Bend, Kansas
Matrix PDM provided detailed automation engineering, programming, simulation and commissioning for the automation of the Cooper Bessemer 20 cylinder natural gas compressor unit at NG PL Station 104 in Great Bend, Kansas. The existing pneumatic compressor unit control system was upgraded to a new automation system with full control and diagnostic monitoring of the engine - compressor set. The new system allows for future remote control of the unit from the main gas control operations center in Houston, Texas.

Scope of Work
- Complete simulation of the unit software in-house prior to commissioning
- Factory acceptance testing in house with simulation verification with Kinder Morgan
- Development of unit commissioning and site acceptance plans
- Allen Bradley Contrologix processor communicating via ethernet network
- Wonderware lnTouch HMI
- Unit control logic consisting of mode control, loading/unloading control and various algorithms for operation
- Station control logic consisting of remote, local and standby control, as well as various flow mode capabilities
