CEMEX – Cement Facility Packhouse Integration
Location: Fairborn, Ohio
This $12 million cement packhouse facility produces 50,000 tons of gray cement and 44,000 tons of colored cement per year with four 150 ton tanks for colored cement and a 200 ton tank for gray cement. Matrix PDM Engineering provided structural, electrical and mechanical design and construction phase services to help move the already manufactured cement to the packhouse for packing.
The cement facility needed an up-to-date packhouse to automatically pack the cement into bags and palletize. The new system includes a packing and palletizing rate of 1,800 bph. Matrix PDM also integrated the control systems and software and performed start-up and commissioning services.
